South Heath in Autumn 3:158E

Waterford Heath is about a twenty-minute walk from home and one of my favourite places to photograph locally. The heath is an old gravel workings now turned into a nature reserve and is divided into two areas, north and south, each with their own characteristics. This image is taken in the south heath and shows some of the silver birch trees with their autumn foliage after a frost. It is one of a series of three images from this location, albeit not all taken on the same morning. Nov 19
