Milky Way, Venus and Zodiacal Light:26H - Heaven: Foreign Skies
About two hours before dawn in the Western Australian desert near Coral Bay I was able to capture this image of the Milky Way, Venus and the Zodiacal light. The Zodiacal light is a faint, roughly triangular, diffuse white glow seen in the night sky that appears to extend up from the vicinity of the Sun along the ecliptic or zodiac (the path of the sun across the sky). In the southern hemisphere is best seen just after sunset in autumn, and just before sunrise in the spring, when the zodiac is at a steep angle to the horizon. April 2014
