Canyonlands Lightning:111E

Canyonlands national park in Utah has a lower profile that its more popular but smaller neighbour the Arches. This only adds to its beauty in my opinion. After catching the sunset we noticed a storm brewing on the far rim of the canyon on the other side of the Soda Springs Basin. As darkness approach the intensity of the storm increased. This was just about the last image I took before deciding that it was no longer a good idea to be standing on the rime of the canyon. As we drove back to our hotel the rain came down and within half an hour the sky was full of lightning. August 17
