Buttermere Pines:180E - Lake District
One of my favourite lakes in Cumbria. The Buttermere Pines are much photographed but not everyone gets the chance to capture the reflection of the trees in the lake with such clarity. The scene is never stationary and I could honestly spend hours here as the mood of the place changes with the lighting conditions as the day passes. On this morning we had driven from Keswick through Borrowdale, where there had been a heavy frost, and over Honister Pass to reach Buttermere just as the light reached the slopes below Haystacks. Oct 19.
